Thumbs up

Posted May 23rd, 2010 by Luke

I have made the first piece for my donation to the AAQ this year.
I tend to use this each hear to try my hand at new techniques and ideas.
[and of course making at least one a picture of me or my logo]

its 16inches by 16 inches, as are they all for the contest. so that collectors can make a collection by getting them year after year.
I advise going over to the website and check what they have to offer and think about submitting a small quilt for the chance at huge prizes.

In thinking about your clothing series – check out uk artist Ann Carrington, and her “Blue Jeans” series – you two have alot in common.

Thank you so much for chatting live with my class!! The kids loved it and I am sure will be sending you more questions. Your work is really inspiring and the kids loved being able to make the connection with the grid enlargement and their own work. I don’t think you could hear them, but a lot of the students were saying things like, “Awesome, I want to try to do that!” Our adminstrators also stopped in to hear some of our conversation and were really impressed! Thanks again!!!

Not only is he a Master Artist, Luke Haynes is also a global educator. Luke has introduced his art work to the 21 Century Learner at Frelinghuysen Middle School. He Skyped with our Art class from the West coast to us in New Jersey. The students really liked his down to earth personality. We appreciated his willingness to meet with our class. Thank you.
