Agile makes its way into quilting

Posted June 14th, 2010 by Luke

There is a working method called agile used primarily in software development. I have been learning about this process through some graphic design projects I have been working on over the past few months. Now that I am gearing up for my show in October in NYC I have lots of work to do and wanted a way to break down the project into workable pieces as they relate to time.

put op on the wall: arranged into quilts per month with the six steps to finish each:
1) design top
2) design figures
3) piece top
4) piece figures
5) quilt it all together
5) finish [binding, logo, thread picking etc.]
I am aiming for 12 done large scale projects in October.

it migrated behind my couch a little as work progresses and I need the middle of my studio floor for laying out, but I am still excited about the stepped method of progress tracking.
