Double Ds BBQ in Oakland CA

i had to force a tip on this man.
The menu read like a true southern BBQ, there was more meats to choose from than sides.

This is an Oakland institution.

I say try it if you get the chance.

The meat was a fair. the sides were good. the sauce was nice.

The establishment left a bit to be desired, in the way of seating, like..any. but the fun of ordering out of a little hole in a wrought iron door, made up for sitting at a window sill in the direct sunlight.

No sweet tea.

I didn’t ask where the name came from.
