a few more jeans

Posted July 26th, 2010 by Luke

Here are a few shots i found from the process of making those super sweet jeans:
rockin pocket

i really liked what happened fixing the hole on the back passenger side of the jeans so I moved the pocket down below so the orange was still visible.

super duper

I like having a low pocket.
It means that I dont have to sit on whatever I store down there.
[i also like the fix for the pockets so i dont drop what I put in the pockets. [like my phone when I am talking on the headset... like three times per call]]

Jeans

Posted July 5th, 2010 by Luke

As a quilter it seems to me that I should not have to walk around with holes in all my pants.
somehow all my jeans decided to have their knees bust out at the same time. some I have had for 5plus years and some for a matter of months. dunno what that’s all about.
I took a whole day and made patches for them. some more interesting than others.
here is one pair that took quite a makeover.

I’ll make you some if you want.

Benji

I am projecting an image in fabric.
The project for the Quilt of Benjamin Franklin was proposed to me by my good friend Jesse.
He wanted to see Benjamin sitting on a bed. bantering this idea around for a few years we came upon the idea that we wanted to see the image while the quilt was on the bed. I went to that old stand by from my days of Architecture: Sketchup.

I tried to figure out the geometry to make a projected image such that it was exactly respondent to a person four feet to the right and 6 feet down from the corner of the bed. a week and some dents in the computer later I had a rendering that started to look like what we wanted it to look like. after a bit of work I had an image that worked.

I made a mock up to see if It worked like we wanted.

Job search October 2009 [now I know why people bag groceries]

Posted November 2nd, 2009 by Luke

In the breaks of the reggaeton I could hear the synchronized shouting reminiscent of a cult reciting its vows. I had walked in two minutes early, which in my book is late for a job interview. I was there for my second interview. The job was a manager for a company that was a bit [...]
