HQ promo for a good product

Posted July 26th, 2010 by Luke

I have been sewing on my HQ Fusion long arm machine for a few weeks now and love every moment of it.
It arrived in a daunting 9 box spread and took a bit of engineering to get together, but now that its up I have had not a single bit of trouble with it.

I am loving how much faster I can sew and what amount of detail i can bring into my work.

Nube Green

Posted June 14th, 2010 by Luke

I have a bed quilt for sale at a local botique.

Nube Green

The place has an interesting theme. its products are all green. [as in recycled or sustainable local rather than the secondary color combination of yellow and blue]

The quilt I have there is the one made from recycled clothes into the Log cabin pattern.

the bed that was in my studio to show the quilts on:

Got a sweet parcel in the mail

Posted June 7th, 2010 by Luke

Scott Blake the artist who makes art from bar codes sent me some sweet merch today.
I had sent him a test run of a QR code from the embroidery machine.

Working with him has been the impetus to make the QR code Blazer.
[you know you want one]

he sent me lots of stickers to stick to everything I own.
and a few of his Reagan Post cards, which are super sweet.

[Gifts #11] Whale eye

Posted June 3rd, 2010 by Luke

Here is the second small quilt I made for the Alliance for American Quilts annual fundraiser.
I used a Bernina free motion machine to quilt it.
You can see that there are a lot more stitches than I am used to using and in a different pattern, due to the machine.
I didnt worry about the edges I just machined all over each color in the image with that color thread.
I like to send in a self portrait every year to the Alliance.
It’s for both branding and to fuel my ego.

Thumbs up

Posted May 23rd, 2010 by Luke

I have made the first piece for my donation to the AAQ this year.
I tend to use this each hear to try my hand at new techniques and ideas.
[and of course making at least one a picture of me or my logo]

its 16inches by 16 inches, as are they all for the contest. so that collectors can make a collection by getting them year after year.
I advise going over to the website and check what they have to offer and think about submitting a small quilt for the chance at huge prizes.

Quilt index

Posted November 19th, 2009 by Luke

http://www.quiltindex.org/ here is the write up for the site: Fasten your seatbelts! The Quilt Index (http://www.quiltindex.org) has doubled overnight, and we need your help to tell the world. Of course nearly 50,000 searchable quilt records from more than 29 contributors across the country didn’t happen in 24 hours.   We all know that the amazing, hard-working crew [...]
